We are thrilled to welcome our community back to the Detroit Riverfront for our first major in-person fundraiser since 2019, Shimmer on the River: A Riverfront Reunion! To honor Shimmer’s long-awaited return, we are creating an unforgettable event, where our supporters will have a chance to reunite in-person and celebrate the Best Riverwalk in the country together.
The evening will feature a live performance from Detroit legends The Spinners, a Food Truck Rally, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase, family games and activities at the Adventure Park, sponsored by Delta Dental of Michigan, and other unique surprises. This year we will be honoring two individuals with the Shimmer Award, long-time board member Larry McLaughlin, and the late Evelyn Johnston, a founding board member of the Conservancy. The 2021 Shimmer Award is proudly sponsored by Honigman LLP.
