
Kids Fishing Fest & Sturgeon Day will join together for the first time ever on Saturday, May 3 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Presented by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy in partnership with the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, Rivertown Detroit Association, DNR Outdoor Adventure Center, DNR and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services.
Join us for an exciting, fun-filled day on the Detroit Riverfront as we bring together two beloved events, Sturgeon Day and Kids Fishing Fest. This family-friendly event is FREE to attend and the perfect opportunity to explore the wonders of wildlife and conservation while also experiencing the world of fishing.
Get up close and personal with live sturgeon, touch preshistoric creatures, and learn all about their fascinating life and vital conservation efforts to protect them.
Kids Fishing Fest is the perfect place to learn the ropes of fishing and try casting a line into the Detroit River.
Registration is required and will open the beginning of April.
All children must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or legal guardian who will be required to sign a Release & Wavier when registering.
*Loaner poles will be available. Valid ID must be provided by an accompanying guardian to borrow equipment. Please note that a valid Michigan fishing license will be required for any guardians wishing to fish with their child. Fishing is free for kids 16 years of age and younger.
