Dequindre Cut Spring Cleanup

Join the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy in our Dequindre Cut Spring Cleanup!
When: Saturday, April 23 from 10 AM - 2 PM
Where: Dequindre Cut Greenway, Detroit, MI 48207
What: This “come all” volunteer event will focus on removing litter from the Dequindre Cut Greenway and surrounding streets. Volunteer for a few focused hours or or casually collect litter as you walk. We will provide gloves, trash bags, and a limited number of trash pickers and rakes. Once done, tie your bag and leave it along the side of the Cut or street – our cleaning team will pick it up later!
Who: Anyone and everyone is encouraged to help keep our greenspaces clean! Volunteers under the age of 18 must volunteer with an adult. Dress comfortably for the occasion.
Check-in: Volunteer check-in will be located at the Woodbridge, Lafayette, Gratiot, and Wilkins entrances to the Dequindre Cut Greenway. Gloves, trash bags, and a limited number of pickers and rakes will be available. Masks will also be available upon request.
Parking: Free parking is located at Lafayette St & Orleans St, as well as along Woodbridge St near the entrance of the Cut. There is also free parking at the Eastern Market lot (Wilkins St & Orleans St), the lot near Robert C. Valade Park (corner of Atwater St & Chene St), and at Cullen Plaza (1340 Atwater St, Detroit, MI 48207).
When participating in Detroit Riverfront Conservancy's programs or visiting the Detroit Riverfront, please remember: The health and safety of visitors and participants is our top priority. Please stay home if you are feeling sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Program participants are encouraged to wash or sanitize their hands frequently and to respect the comfort levels of those around them.
