Development Events Manager
The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy (DRFC) is seeking a Development Events Manager as the lead for event planning, management, production and sponsorship of major events. The successful candidate is responsible for crafting, executing, and setting a high standard for DRFC donor events. This role is responsible for the DRFC’s annual fundraising event “Shimmer on the River” to create a unique event that retains and attracts supporters, including event sponsorships. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the implementation of several new events that celebrate the support of individual, corporate, foundation, and campaign donors.
The successful candidate should have proven and substantial event management success in a nonprofit environment; a passion for Detroit; demonstrated project management abilities; and knowledge of KPIs and marketing strategies for event management. Additional requirements include an undergraduate degree, superior time-management skills, budget management and negotiation skills, computer skills including MS Office, and exceptional customer service ethics. This is a full-time position with benefits reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer.
