Carol Friend is a partner at Honigman LLP, where she also serves as the leader of the firm’s Business Immigration practice group. She concentrates her practice in the area of employment-based immigration and represents national and international companies in complex business immigration matters.
Throughout her career, Ms. Friend has served on a number of community-oriented boards. In addition to her position on the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, she currently serves on boards for the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts and InForum. She is also the Global Chair for the international legal organization Interlaw’s, Diversity, Inclusion, and Community group.
Ms. Friend earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She earned her B.G.S. from Oakland University.
A lifelong resident of Michigan, Ms. Friend has lived in the city of Detroit since 2015. While not working, she enjoys all of the exciting amenities the city has to offer including the Riverfront, Eastern Market, Music Hall, DSO, Opera House, sporting venues and trying all the new restaurants opening in the city. Ms. Friend also enjoys traveling the world and telling people she meets about the great revitalization of Detroit.
