Join the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy and the Riviere28 Steering Committee for the 4th annual Light Up the Riverfront on June 4 from 6-10pm. We will be enjoying BBQ, bon fires, s'mores and live entertainment in the beautiful Milliken State Park by the Lighthouse.  Come join us with friends and colleagues for the first 2015 Riviere28 event and this unique opportunity to support your Detroit Riverfront.

This event is BYOB, but pop and water will be available. Be sure to bring your picnic basket, lawn chairs, dogs (must be leashed) and blankets to enjoy riverside seating and an enjoyable evening along the Detroit River.

Tickets are $20 each before May 30, $25 each after May 30.

Pre-sale tickets will end at noon on June 4th.

On-site ticket purchases will be available at the entrance the day of the event.

Net proceeds benefit the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy.

Conservancy Receives Numerous Awards In 2014

December 18, 2014 [DETROIT] - This year was a banner year for the Conservancy in terms of receiving accolades for its successful riverfront revitalization efforts, with the organization receiving awards at a local, regional, national and even international level.

Among the recognition received this year:

  • In April, the Conservancy was recognized by the American Planning Association with a prestigious Planning Excellence Award for Implementation. 

  • This summer, the organization was honored by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments with a Regional Ambassador Award for leadership and service. 

  • This fall, the Mt. Elliott Park project received kudos as one of the finalists for the Development/Redevelopment of the Year from ULI Michigan. 

  • In October, the Detroit Riverfront was named one of the 10 Best American Riverfronts by readers of USA Today.  Thank you to all the supporters who voted for the Detroit riverfront.

  • Last month, the Conservancy received the prestigious Excellence on the Waterfront Honor Award from The Waterfront Center during a gala in Washington, D.C.

Bring your family out for a FREE afternoon of art and exercise with the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy.  Grab your bikes, scooters, rollerblades, strollers or anything with non-motorized wheels and join us for a wheeled family-friendly tour of DIA Inside|Out on the riverfront. Inside|Out is a program through the Detroit Institute of Arts that brings high-quality reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA’s collection to outdoor venues throughout the metro Detroit.

Canine To Five is proud to announce the return of the Riverfront Canine Club in partnership with the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy. This weekly walk is an opportunity to bring together Detroit-loving dog owners and to show off the riverfront.

The Riverfront Canine Club is a guided dog-walking group led by Canine to Five staff. The walk starts at Rivard Plaza typically walks to Joe Louis and back again.  It is a super fun way to get your dog some exercise and to meet other nice people and their dogs.

The Riverfront Canine Club meets at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Rivard Plaza and the walk lasts between an hour and a hour and a half.Be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your 4-legged friend! This walks is FREE and all are welcome, if you have a dog or just love dogs! FREE parking is available in the parking lot behind Rivard Plaza.
