June 18, 2015 [DETROIT] -Crews continue making steady progress with the half-mile extension of the Dequindre Cut.  Bridge work is nearing completion, with the reconstruction of the Wilkins Street crossing as the last needed before the Cut opens.  Construction of the Wilkins Street Plaza is in progress and should be finished this summer. Placement of the asphalt paving along the Cut is in process now. Installation of light poles and fencing will also occur in the coming months. The Dequindre Cut North is expected to open in early spring 2016.
