Detroit's first lady, Yvette Bing, was the first celebrity reader to kick off the city's annual Reading and Rhythm on the Riverfront.
The event, which is sponsored by the Detroit Riverfront Conservatory and General Motors is meant to get Detroit area kids interested in reading while understanding the importance of education.
