Solar Eclipse Watch Party

Celebrate seeing a near total solar eclipse with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, Outdoor Adventure Center, and Huron Clinton Metroparks on Monday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m. Join us at Cullen Plaza to view the solar eclipse at 99% totality. The eclipse will come into view at 1:58 p.m. and reach 99% totality at 3:14 p.m. You will receive a free pair of viewing glasses while supplies last and themed snacks, like Sun Chips and Moon Pies. You can view the eclipse through a large telescope with staff from the Huron Clinton Metroparks. You can also go on a self-guided planet walk with information provided from the Outdoor Adventure Center.

This event is weather permitting and will be canceled if there are severe storms or rain during the event time. Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather. All ages are welcome! Free parking is available at Cullen Plaza 1340 Atwater St. Detroit, MI 48207.

Registration is encouraged and does not guarantee viewing glasses, which are available on a first come-first serve basis.

Outdoor Adventure Center Planet Walk

The planet walk is a self-guided activity along the sidewalk from Cullen Plaza, the wetland path through Milliken State park and ends at the Outdoor Adventure Center. Each planet will be represented with a sign and accomanying facts. The planet walk will be up until  4:30 PM.
